Financial Exploitation Seminar Planned

Members of the Luzerne/Wyoming Counties Elder Abuse Task Force have announced their next training seminar. The topic will be “Financial Exploitation”, with two sessions offered on Monday, March 8th, at Misericordia University in Dallas. (*Snow Date: March 10th) Seniors will be invited to a presentation with lunch from 10:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. An evening session from 6 until 8 p.m. will be open to both seniors and the general public. Banking Personnel Attend Financial Fraud Seminar

for-publication-elder-abuse-task-force-small1The Ethics Institute at Misericordia University recently hosted an Elder Abuse Task Force-sponsored training seminar. The topic was “Elder Financial Abuse” and it was attended by members of the banking community and credit union professionals. The session at Misericordia University explained what elder abuse is and how the elderly are exploited financially. Participants learned about how to identify abuse and steps they can take to prevent it from occurring.
